0 to $1,000,000 in one month: how itk.digital scaled a client from zero

How we took a client from a brand new account to $300,000 on launch day and $1,000,000 in revenue inside its first month, step by step.

TL;DR

  • Started from zero: no followers, no brand presence, no founder presence.
  • Warmed up the account with relevant followers, then launched with a trailer that drove email sign-ups.
  • Built a share card people wanted to post, backed by a small, targeted KOL push.
  • Ran a beta with high-intent users, then launched on proof, not promises.
  • Result: $300,000 on day one and $1,000,000 in revenue inside the first month.

Starting from zero

A client came to us starting from a blank state. 0 followers, no brand presence, no founder presence.

When reviewing prospective clients, we look at several factors: team, experience, funding, strength of product and its potential for product-market fit.

This client ticked the key criteria. There was a clear reason for users to choose the product, along with an existing category wedge that gave them a credible path into the market.

Marketing can amplify a strong product, but it can’t rescue a bad one.

Plenty of marketing agencies lead with vanity metrics - “we’ll get you X followers, we’ll get you Y Discord members, etc.”.

We lead with metrics that actually contribute to success. Rather than chasing surface-level growth, we prioritised reaching the right audience, attracting potential customers, and driving outcomes that support the business.

So, how did we do it?

Laying the foundation

The first step was warming up their brand new X account. Before starting anything, we needed to establish credibility.

In Web3, one of the first trust signals people look for is mutual followers - does anyone I recognise already follow this account?

By leveraging our network built over years of trust and industry relationships, we seeded the account with high-quality, relevant followers before the first post went live. This created an immediate layer of social proof while also sparking interest - why were credible people already following an account that had not yet launched?

That curiosity helped build early interest in the project before any posting took place.

The ‘Hello World’ moment

With the account primed and an initial layer of credibility established, it was time to introduce the brand.

The first post was a high-quality trailer video designed to communicate who they were, what they’re building, and why people should pay attention.

Rather than a simple teaser, the content directed curiosity toward a clear call to action - joining the waitlist via email. This was the first test of interest and beginning of a measurable acquisition funnel.

Within the first 24 hours, the launch generated more than 2000 email sign-ups, thousands of followers and impressions, turning early interest into a qualified audience we can activate.

The share card and waitlist: making something worth sharing

Share cards and waitlists have become a staple of Web3 marketing, and for good reason: they work. People love to flex.

The problem is that many campaigns use the format without giving it any substance. Often there is no real reason to generate it, post it, and nothing that creates conversion once it reaches the timeline.

For this client, we designed the entire waitlist and social-sharing system from the ground up. This included the points structure, user tasks, the social card, design, development, and distribution strategy.

The card used onchain data to analyse each user’s trading history, including volume, PnL, and win rate. It then gave users a personalised trader tag and ranking - for example, “Volume Trader” + “You are in the Top 1% of traders”.

This made the card interesting even to people who were not yet familiar with the product. When someone shared that they had ranked in the top 5%, others naturally wanted to see where they placed.

The campaign was not driven solely by rewards. It was driven by curiosity, status, and comparison.

Comparison became the engine of distribution. Every card posted gave someone else a reason to generate their own, turning the audience into an acquisition channel.

Combined with a minimal but highly targeted KOL push, the campaign generated more than one million impressions, over 80,000 waitlist sign-ups, and a significant increase in community members actively seeking access to the product.

The campaign built a pre-launch waitlist of over 80,000 interested users, giving the client an immediate growth channel for email campaigns, major announcements and future conversions. By the end of our work together, the email list had grown past 200,000 sign-ups.

KOLs done right

KOLs are one of the most argued-about topics in Web3 marketing. People either love them or hate them. The truth is, most of them don’t convert directly.

KOLs are exceptionally effective at bringing awareness to a product, but only when their audience aligns with the target demographic.

This is where many campaigns fail. Agencies and in-house teams often default to creators they already know, creators who performed well in a different vertical, or those with strong vanity metrics - assuming those results will translate across campaigns.

Reach without relevance is noise. A large account may reliably generate 50,000 impressions, but if they don’t land in front of the right eyes, you’ve paid for attention that was never going to convert. Low CPM is easy to brag about, but CAC is what matters.

A strong beta phase

A strong beta isn’t just about testing the product. It’s about putting it in the hands of those most likely to become future customers.

We strategically seeded access across the community, prioritising high-intent users who matched the client’s target demographic. This gave the team meaningful product feedback while also creating visible proof that the product was real, functional, and already being used.

As users began sharing their experiences, FOMO followed. We drip fed access to the most engaged members of the community, building demand while maintaining a sense of exclusivity.

We also brought a select group of KOLs into the beta - a decision that would play an important role for the public launch.

By launch, the groundwork had already been laid. The product had been tested and validated, early users were advocating for it, and demand was already in place.

The launch: proof over promises

By launch day, the account had recognition, the share cards had put the product in front of the right people, and a warm waitlist was ready to be activated.

Most launches are treated as the finish line. We treated this one as the second spike. The social card had earned attention, the launch had to convert it.

The focus was simple: proof of product. Rather than relying on a polished launch video filled with cool animations, we included testimonials from our beta users.

We paired this with a KOL activation featuring people who had actually traded during the beta - real accounts, real results, shared by people whose audiences match our client’s target demographic.

Instead of being asked to believe in the brand, they were shown real results and proof.

The results from launch

  • The tweet did 900,000 impressions.
  • Revenue on day one exceeded $300,000.
  • By the end of month one, revenue exceeded $1,000,000.

What got them to $1,000,000

None of this came from a single viral moment. It came from sequencing:

  • A product with genuine fit, so the marketing had something real to sell
  • A warmed account that people already recognised before the first big push
  • A share card built around comparison and conversation instead of relying on incentives
  • KOL selection based on audience relevance and conversion rather than follower count
  • A beta phase that strengthened the product & community while activating high-intent users
  • A launch built on proof rather than promises, delivered by trusted people

Impressions were a byproduct. Paying customers were the focus. $300K in one day. $1M cleared inside the first month.
